Armenia Ranked 62nd among the 128 Safest States according to Global Finance
Armenia ranked 62nd in the safest countries ranking compiled by Global Finance magazine.
Among the countries of the region, Armenia stays back only from neighboring Georgia (49), while ahead of Azerbaijan (71), Iran (77) and Turkey (107).
The authors of the rating ranked Russia 108th, justifying it with high crime in the country and threats to peace in the context of the economic downturn.
In total, the rating included 128 countries, the criteria for compiling a list were the likelihood of a military conflict, the level of economic development, the threat to public safety, and the likelihood of a natural disaster.
Iceland is recognized as the safest country in the world, Switzerland and Finland are in the top three. The top 10 also included Portugal, Austria, Norway, Qatar, Singapore, Denmark and New Zealand (Armenia Ranked 62nd among 128 States in the List of the Safest Countries, according to Global Finance, ARKA (Jan. 30, 2019) (in Russian)).
