Record Number of Visitors to Georgia in 2018
Georgia has achieved another record in tourism industry. In 2018, international visitors crossed the country’s border about 8.7 million times (increase of 10%). Among them about 4.8 million visitors were tourists, which is an increase of 17% over the past year.
Georgia is visited mostly by the residents of neighboring countries – Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia. Income fro tourism in the first three quarters of 2018 amounted to USD 2,6 billion, which is a 7,6% share in the GDP of the country.
