Georgian Passport Improved Its Rank in Global Index Rating

According to 2019 Global Rating of Henley & Partners, Georgian passport has increased its rank, taking 49th place.

The results of the index state that the citizens of Georgia can visit 114 countries without a visa or through simplified procedures.

Georgia’s neighboring countries, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia are in 78th, 73rd, 50th and 47th rankings accordingly.

Global Index Rating

In Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ukraine holds 1st place, Moldova holds 2nd place, and Russia holds 3rd place. Moldova has climbed 21 places since 2009, while Ukraine has climbed 22 places. Georgia, in 4th, has climbed 17 places

The citizens of the top countries, which are Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Germany, have the opportunity to travel through simplified procedures to 189 countries.

The world passports are ranked based on the number of countries the citizens of that country can travel visa-free.  It uses the data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world’s largest database of travel information (Georgian Passport improved it’s rank in Global Index Rating, georgiatoday.ge (27, March, 2019) (in English)).
